To our valued clients and friends,

It is with a profound sense of sadness and disbelief that we announce the passing of our Partner and Friend, George W. Skogstrom, Jr., who died peacefully in his sleep in May. George’s death was unexpected and we are simply at a loss for words.

George was a self-described “Raynham kid”, and through his father grew up learning about the construction industry and the value of an honest day’s work. George received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Syracuse University (1985) and then went on to earn his law degree at Boston College (1988).

George was the Firm’s Managing Partner and, while putatively the head of our litigation department, he provided mentorship and guidance to all of the attorneys who were fortunate enough to work with him. No one ever left a conversation with George feeling unheard, and his advice was always thoughtful, well-reasoned and frequently involved an anecdote from his own experience that was analogous to the issue at hand.

He leaves his wife, Carol, and two children, Max and Ava, whom he showered with praise, love and admiration. Max is a recent graduate of Duke University School of Law, and an associate attorney at the Boston office of Holland & Knight. Ava has just completed her sophomore year at Boston College. He will be remembered by his friends, family and colleagues as someone who put family first, and made each day count.

We at Schlossberg are grateful for the time we had with George and will miss him dearly. He leaves behind very large shoes that can never truly be filled; however, we will use our best efforts to honor his legacy and do exactly what he asked us to do each and every day: honor the profession you are in because it is a privilege to be a member of the Bar and provide the absolute best legal services you can to the client.
